CRIMINAL ASSAULT CASE Messrs V. Fail and W. H. Kent presided as justices at a sitting of the Taupo Police Court held on Fri- • day last. Anoka Thomas Phoe, . aged 19, labourer, of Taupo, pleaded guilty to a charge of having committed rape on a girl of 9, and was remanded for sentence to the Auckland Supreme Court. # Mr R. A. Potter, of Rotorua, was counsel for accused, while the case for the prose^cution was conducted by Sergeant J. B. McLean. The court was cleared for ihe hearing of evidence, and by direction of the Bench the name of the victim of ihe assault was ordered to i • be suppressed.
