COMING OF-AGE PARTY A social event in Taupo was the party on January 14 last in honour of Miss Mufty Rameka • on her twenty-first birthday. About 250 guests attended a reception in Rickit/s Hall which was decorated with streamers, flowers and punga ferns. The guest of honour wore a charming gown of wlhite broiderie angalise, with white accessories. Her mother, Kori Rameka wore a gown of black cloque with diamante clasps. Music for the party was furnished by IMack Habib's orchestra, with songs by Mrs Mclnally of Auckland and Dick Ngatai of Rotorua. Guests included the Rev. Father De Bree, of Taupo, Mr and Mrs J. Edwards and daughters of Napier, Mrs P. R. iSmyrk of Waipukurau, Capt. and Mrs M. 'Stanley of Birkenhead, and Mr and Mrs D. Brandle of Oklahoma, U.S.A. The Master of 'Ceremonies was Constable J. Rowlands. Miss Rameka received many handsome gifts including a gold wristlet watch from her mother.
