Australia and New Zealand.
Perth, November 5. Colonel Foxton, Commonwealth delegate to the Imperial Defence Congress, has returned. to the separate naval schemes of New Zealand and Australia, he says : “Do not think Sir Joseph Ward would mind my saying in and out of Conference I urged upon him the desirability of New Zealand throwing in its lot with the Commonwealth and joining in the responsibility for a truly Australian fleet unit, but unsuccessfully.”
