SECOND EXPRESS IN DECEMBER.

Wellington, October 9. The Minister for Railways stated in reply to an inquiry, that the new time-table for the Main Trunk Line has not yet been completed. He states that he does not propose to put the second express on from November Ist, as at first proposed, but to inaugurate it on December Ist. His intention is to give the second train a trial for three months during the busy season. Its con'-, tinuance, he says, will depend on the results. He has no intention of running any trains that do not pay.
