Last evening crowds visitc.l Hetheiingtons Ltl., Te Aroha branch, and were simply entranced at the beautiful display of new season’s goods just opened up. A constant stream of ladies and gentlemen, principally the former, wended their way round the various tables and counters to the strains of sweet orchestral music by the Te Aroha Trio. The various windows comprised (1) Summer dress goods and trimmings ; (2) muslins, delaines and parasols ; (3) prints, zephyrs, embroideries ; and (4) men’s mercery and clothing. The dress department contains exclusive designs, dress lengths. In the print and cotton goods department the centre table presents novelties in a new range of creponnes in beautiful colourings; the second table contained white boxed robes and beautifully embroidered blouse lengths. The boot department contained a beautiful display of everything that appeals to the sterner sex. The whole display reflects the greatest credit on the manager (Mr C. Rayner) and his staff.

The Rev. W. Blair wiU conduct public worship in the Waitoa Church, at 2 30 p.m. on Sunday. The Secretary of the local Tennis Club (Mr W. Quane), has been advised that the Ngarua Club open the season on October 16th. A cordial invitation is extended to the members of the Te Aroha Club and their friends to be present.

In Mr A. W. Edwards’ well-known drapery and millinery establishment a very choice assortment of new season's goods are to be found. Last evening the windows were brilliantly lit up and much admired by the fair sex. On Sunday evening an address to men will be given in St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Te Aroha. The service will be open to all men and women, but young men are especially invited to attend. Subject of address “ Courage.”
