Waikato Presbytery.

The usual meeting of the Waikato Presbytery was held at Waihi, on Tuesday, October sth. The Rev. T. Scott, M.A., presided. A vote of sympathy with the wife and family of the late Mr McCrae, elder of St. James Church, Waihi, was passed. Mr Craig tendered his resignation as representative elder of the Paesoa charge. It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to the Rev. W. Woollass, of Te Awamutu, who was absent owing to sickness.

The Presbytery nominated the Rev. P. B. Iraser, M.A., of Lovell’s Flat, Otago, as Moderator of Assembly for 1910. Messrs Scott. White, and Blair were nominat;d for the various AssemblyCommittees. They also decided to recommend the following grants : Whakatane, £2O; Te Puke, £OO ; Te Aroha, £3O; Huntly, £ls; Katikati, £3O ; Te Kuiti, £SO ; Te Awamutu, £25. Messrs Norrie, W r ebber, Turnbull, Kirgan, Raven, Stewart, and Irvine, homo missionaries, were empowered to dispense the sacraments and to perform the rite of marriage. Mr Stewart wa3 received as a horns missionary of the Presbytery and appointed to the Matamata district for a term of twelve mouths. The Rev. A. Gow read the report of the commission appointed to a isit Huntly. The report was received. It was decided to re-appoint Mr Kirgan for a period of twelve months, and to recommend the formation of a session for the Huntly charge. « Letters from the Auckland Presbytery and the Opotiki Session were was resolved to support the petition of the Opotiki congregation, to be included in the Waikato Presbytery, and not in the Auckland Presbytery, as at present. An overture from the Rotorua Church, Deacon’s Court re deleting section 92 of the Book of Order was moved by the Rev. T. Scott. It was decided to forward the overture to the General Assembly. ' Rev. W. White presented a call from the Tauranga congregation to the Rev. A. Wedderspoon, of Pukekohe. The call was signed by 47 members and tho form of concurrence by 22 adherents. Mr Badger, of Tauranga, appeared in support of the call, and it was resolved to forward it to Mr Wedderspoon for his acceptance. Plans for the repairing and enlargement of the Paeroa Manse were submitted for inspection and approved of, also for the Te Aroha Church Classroom.

The Presbytery then adjourned, to meet again in December.
