Spaniards in Morocco.
Madrid, September 21. The Madrid army corps under the direction of General Marina, who is in charge of the whole operations, cleared the country north of Mount Guargo, and took thousands of prisoners. They drove the rest of the tribesmen to the heights. The corps now sit astride the Peninsula to the sea shore, cutting off communication with the rest of Morocco. Sufficient ammunition and stores having been accumulated render the Spanish army independent of sea communication. The advance of troops to Melilla has commenced. The Spanish troops total 40,000 and cheered wildly when orders to march against the enemy were given. Warships are supporting the operations of the army which did little fighting to-day, one of the opposing tribes being routed with severe loss, while the Spaniards had one killed and wounded. Magbzen is asking powers to intervene to safeguard Moorish territory, alleging that Spain’s aciion is a violation of the Algecira’s treaty, and that the whole trouble i 3 due to crossing the frontier, and mines and working railways;
