Presentation to Miss Alma Taylor.

Yesterday afternoon, in the Public Hall, Waihou, Miss Alma Taylor was the -recipient of a lady’s handsome gold bracelet watch, from the residents of Waihou.

The Rev. P. Cleary, vicar of Te Aroha, in making the presentation, referred to the faithful and generous manner in which Miss Taylor for years fuMled the duties of organist at Divine and also to the musical help had given on social occasions. He asked her to accept the gift as a- little token of the affection of esteem in which she » was held by the people of the district. The rev. gentleman apologised for the absence of the Revs. Blair and Reed. Mbs Taylor feelingly thanked the Rev. chairman for the kind words he had said of her, and the people for their beautiful gift, which she said she would always treasure. Afternoon tea was supplied by the various ladies of Waihou. Owing to the heavy downpour of 1 rain the gathering was not as large as it otherwise would have been, but in spite of very unfavourable weather conditions many friends of Miss Taylor courted a wetting in order to be present.
