The Luard Murder.
London, September 21. A man was arrested at Maidstone yesterday on a charge of murdering Mrs Luard, wife of Major-General Luard at Ightham Knoll, Kent, in August of last year. He was discharged to-day, owing |to lack of evidence, despite the demand of the police for time to secure further evidence, notably with reference to a revolver in the possession of the prisoner. Newspapers censure the police for making a muddle of the case.
