Bomb Throwing in India
Calcutta, September 16. A bomb thrown at a passenger train, 57 miles from Calcutta, blew off the roof of the treasure van containing 15 lakhs of rupees. A native escort guarded the treasure with great courage, and beat off the gang responsible for the outrage. No casualities were sustained. The Bengali, a newspaper issued in Calcutta, publishes an attack on those who have written to the Times, declaring their abharrence to sedr tious crimes.
