Lon_»on, September 9, A SELECT Committee of the House of Commons on Imprisonment for Debt, reports against the complete abolition as a threat of imprisonment is the only argument which appeals to a certain.class of debtors. They propose a reduction of statute limitations to three years instead of six, and-recommended that imprisonment be not permitted, in usury or betting cases.
