Calcutta, August 29. Lord Kitchener, who is retiring from the command of the Indian Army, in a circular emphasies the great improvement in the health of the Indian Army during the past few years. Ho mentions that the death rate of British trc jps has fallen from 17.3 per thousand ia 1891 to 9 per thousand in 1909.
