COMMERCIAL
Messes E. Griffiths & Co. are in receipt or the following Butter Market Report from their London Principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated 2nd July, 1909 Yesterday and to-day the weather is much brighter, and the wish that these altered conditions may continue is general.
a Danish.—A good steady demand is to reported and the quotation is unchanged. Siberian.—Beports from several centres in Sibeiia are to the effect that the sale is much less than anticipated. Arrivals this week are about the same as last, and prices have been well maintained. French.—ln one or two cases slightly reduced prices are quoted for salted butter, but all unsalted is unchanged. The demand continues fairly good, and these butters are cheap in comparison with other grades. Australian.—Butter ex s.s “Owestry Grange ” have landed in good order. Those brands which have been placed on the market for sale are clearing steadily at quotations, but some are being put into store and are not being offered at the moment.
New Zealand.—There are very few, if any, finest to be offer ; there are, however one or tvn parcels of secondary which do not meet with ready sale. Cheese (New Zealand). —At the reduction in price there has been a much better demand, and we think most of those ex “ Ruapehu ” will be cleared before the “ Aiawa ” shipment is landed. Canadian.—About Is lower on .the week, and there is little if any, improvement in quality.
