Another Drink Victim.
Gisboene, August 6. An inquest on the body of Edwin James Norton, who was drowned in the Turanganui River, was held to-day. The deceased had been drinking heavily. A verdict of “ found drowned was returned. The coroner (Mr W. J-< Barton, S.M.) said the circumstances ol his death were deplorable. Some person was to blame ; and he urge the police to make the fullest mvestigations. _ 7 [We quite concur with the Coroner a remarks ; only national prohibition will alter such occurrences.—Ed.]
