Presentation

At the Methodist Social on Thursday evening, two presentations were made. The Rev. A. J. Reed, on behalf of the Church, the Ladies’ Guild, the Choir, and the Sunday-school, presented to Mr R. Seccombe and Miss L. Allen a silver cake dish, as a mark of the esteem in which they were held, the presentation being occasioned by their approaching marriage. Mr Seccombe, on behalf of Miss Allen and himself, feelingly responded to the good wishes expressed. On the same evening a presentation was made to Mr G, Sherlock of a tastefully hound copy of “TbeMethodist Hymn and Tune Book.” Occasion was taken to refer to the highly appreciated services rendered by Mr Sherlock as choirmaster until hi? recent resignation from that office, and and the hope was expressed that ho would long be spared to sing, the melodies of the book in their midst. Mr Sherlock suitably responded to the good wishes conveyed.
