Sydney, July 14. A dreadful shipwreck occurred on Middleton reef, between Norfolk Island and Australia, at midnight on June 18. The Norwegian barque Errol, bound from West Coast to Port America, struck the reef and was totally lost. TheTofua brought five survivors, found by them at the Reef on tbe 12th inst., in the last stages of exhaustion. The captain’s wife and four children died four days previous to Tofua’s arrival.

There were twenty-two souls on board, and-most of them perished of starvation.

The Errol was a. Norwegian barque, 1364 tons, and was bound from Chimbote to Newcastle fol orders.
