BUTTER AND CHEESE MARKET.
Messrs H. Griffiths & Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London Principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated the 21st of May, 1909: - Weather is still very unfavourable for the growth of grass. Bright hot sunshine, following on the drying winds, is making the outlook very serious for the Home make of butter, but this shortage is to the advantage of colonial. Danish.-An advance of three kroner? has been made this week. Trade is good, and all dailies ar clearing, Siberian.— Quantity" is still short. Quality is pleasing, and prices are firmer. French. No further alteration in. quotations is to bo noted. Orders are fairiy free, and the best grades are now pleasing.
Australian.—There has been an excellent demand, and butlers ex s.s. Asturias, which landed in fine order, are well
clear dat full rates. The s.s. Moravian’s cargo is now coming to hand, and we hmk for a ready clearance as finest butconsequence of the short make in md and Irelaud, are in sihall supNew Zealand.—Market cleared. The JS.s. Paparoa, which was scheduled to arrive on the 23rd is not now due until the 26th. We look for higher prices on this shipment.
CHEESE.
Ncsw Zealand.—Coloured again very Beane, and higher prices are asked, white boiug for the moment neglected. Canadian are dearer over the cable, and reports are that the early shipments will ba poor, as they are shipping them too green.
