Farmers’ Union Meeting at Waihou.

The above tfsjs b»l£®tn the Waihou Hall on Tuesday, .fhne 26th. The attendance was not very large, but tho interest shown in all matters under discussion proves that the few present were fully awake to their own interests. The following names were added to the roll:—Mr Fitton, Mr C. A. Granger, Mr E. Hipworth, Mr E. T. Hunt, Mr T, Donovan, and Mr T. Rice.

The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, and correspondence was read from Mr Jos. Graham, re speying; Te Aroha Dairy Company, re bacon factory ; Ohinemuri River Silting Association; also a letter from Sir J. Ward, re his promise of a goods shed for Waihou. This matter is not at all satisfactory, and it was decided that on the Premier’s return from England he be again reminded of his oft-repeated promise. TS 01 # It was decided to remove the manure charts from the hall, and consult the School Committee about placing them in the school.

It was suggested by Mr Rice that v the Union endeavour to get lectures from any of the agricultural or manurial experts that might be available, and this wks agreed to. Re annual dinner, the Secretary (Mr G. Goodfellow) reported that after all accounts had been paid, including a debit balance of 10s, there would be a credit balance in the balance-sheet to be presented at next meeting. of thanks were passed to all liolped with labour, and to the ladies rfpd gentlemen who contri-i but*d songs during the evening, and also to Mrs Lewis, for the loan of her piano.

This being all the business, the meeting closed, with the usual vote to the chair.
