MORRINSVILLE
(Own Correspondent) A SAD accident occurred at Putaruru on Thursday evening whereby two girls, going home from school lo3t their lives, jlt appears a young man was engaged ! drawing trucks with a horse, and the girls got between the trucks and staging, with the resr't that they were both i crushed to death. A sad .feature of the j affair is that they were the only children j of Mr Collier, who only recently was severely injured, getting his arm in some ' machineiy, and has had the misfortune to lose a child previously through it accidentally falling down stairs. The deceased children were about 10 and 12 years of age. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents, who have not long arrived at Putaruru. Dr. Seville’s little daughter still continues very ill, and every hope is expressed for a speedy recovery. There is a good drying wind here today, which is making a good improvement in the condition of the roads.
