Choral Society's Concert.
THURSDAY NIGHT,
' I Mk\t promises to br one of the most pleasing: events of the season, will take place in the Public Hall on Thursday evening: next. A grand concert given by the above Darned Society, will give residents of Te Aroha and surrounding districts an apportunity of hearing some very pleasing concerted music. The Society, which has be n prac- , tising for the last two months, has reached a very fair state of efficiency aud should give a good account of itself on Thursday evening. All the pieces undertaken by the Society are by the most popu’ar composers, such as Sullivan, Pinsuti, Pearsall, Hatton, Smart, etc., besides which, some very pretty quartettes, trios, and solos will be rendered by the different members of the Society. When a Choral Society was suggested in Te Aroha, it was never expected it would become such a strong combination as the present one presents, there being TO members on the roll. The Societv has been fortunate iu seeming a first-class pianist in f he person of Mrs W. C. Blair, A.R C.M,, while the conductor, M: C. Payner. is a past master in this particular line. We bespeak a very successful season for the Societv and hope it may become one of the permanent attractions of Te Aroha. It has been a long felt want and it is to be sincerely hoped that the people of Te Aroha will not allow it to lapse for want of the sympathy and support such a Society deserves.
