MORRINSVILLE

(Own Correspondent) Horse breeders of the district will he pleased to learn that Mr J. Gaddes, the well-known horse breaker, returned from Waverley on Friday evening bringing with him the thoroughbred horse “ Lupin ” which he has purchased from the Government. Lupin is a fine, upstanding bay, and was a good performer in ] England, winning several good races.; "He was imported by the Government when five years old for the purpose of improving the breed of horses in New Zealand. He is by Peter Flower from Lunnettes. It is fortunate that he has been secured for this district as his stock should maintain the high standard of hacks and buggy horses at present to be found in the district. !

St. Matthew’s Church was crowded on Sunday night, the occasion of a Confirmation Service, sixteen candidates being presented. The Bishop’s address on the rites and privileges of Confirmation was very helpful and impressive. During his visit the Bishop met the members of the Yestry and had a talk over Church matters. The Rev. Harvie, who has been very painstaking, announced that meetings would he held on the next two Thursday evenings for those recently confirmed and also for anyone who cared to attend.
