WEDDING

NEWSOME-CHAPMAN. A VERY pretty but quiet wedding was solomnised at St. David’s Church, Te Aroba on Wednesday, June 9th, tet\vo»n Mr Georgo Newsome, son of Mr W. Newsome, of Gordon, and Miss Edith Chapman, of Eastry, Kent, England. The nuntial knot was tied by the Rev. W. C. Blair.

The bride looked charming in a handsome costume of creme serge and white picture hat. The bridesmaid, Miss Maisey, of Gordon, was dressed in croaui oashmere voile and wore a green Merry Widow bat. Mr Nightingale aollng as groomsman. The wedding party afterwards adjourned to the residence of Mrs Clausen, of “ Bonny Glenn,” where a most delicious and luxuriant bre ib fast was partaken of, The tables being most beautifully decorated, Iu a neat speech Mr Nizbtingale proposed tbe health of the bride and bridegroom. Healths were also proposed bv Mr Blair and Mr Annan, the bridegroom suitably responded. The gift of the bridegroom to the brjejesmaid was a deliento gold brooch get >yjtb precious stoqes. The bride also being fho recipient of q gold brooch from the bridegroom, In the afternoon a happy tin.e was spent at Mrs Annan(s and after the, singing of Auld Lang Syne a delightful day Was brought to a close,
