Horrors of Herrers Rebellion.

FEARFUL MORTALITY. London, June 3. Mb Douglas Young, British ViceConsul, in his annual report on German West Africa, paints a terrible picture of the Herrers rebellion from 1905 till 1907. It was estimated that 120,000 men, women and children perished. There were 75,000 victims of war and pesitilence in famine years, ending March 1907 alone. Mr Young adds that remembrance of the slaughter and death is likely to retain the present generation of Herrers from renewing hostilities with the protecting power.
