Aeronaut’s Terrible Plight

SUSPENDED IN MID-AIK. London, June 1. i PARACHUTIST BIDMEAD made an ascent of Northampton to-daj r in the presence of over a thousand holiday makers. The balloon rose,rapidly to a height of about 1000 feet. The aeronaut then prepared to descend, but something went wrong with the ropes attaching the s parachute to the ba’loon. The spectators were horrified to see the parachute suddenly fall from the balloon and drop to the earth, while the aeronaut hung suspends 1 below the balloon on a trapeze baron which he had ascended. The unfortunate man was carried away by the light wind prevailing, and nothing has^since been heard of him.
