WAIHOU I. v. MORRINSVILLE I. The above match was played at Morrinsville on Saturday last and resulted in a pointless draw. The day was ideal for football and a good number of spectators were present. Both sides had their best teams in the field and patrons of the game witnessed a fust and willing game. Alf. Leonard captained Waihou aud H. Page acted in a similiar capacity fir Morrinsville Mr H. Johnstone of Hamilton, had charge of the game and it is to that gentleman’s ability as a referee that the game was made so interesting. It is to be hoped that tho Union will endeavour to secure his services in all the remaining contests. Both sides came within an ace of scoring, good defensive play’ by’ the backs being a feature of the game. In this department Jack Timmins of the Waihou team gave his best display this season, closely followed by liis brother Joe and Voir; while for Mon insville H. Page, Hinton and Irwin got in a lot of useful pI»V. The brunt of the battle as usual Ull to the pack and Morrinsville must be given credit for being slightly better than their doughty opponents, W. Hogg, C. Dench and the two Mclntires standing out prominently' of a good pack. For Waihou Arty Lennard, Comorfoid. Shine and Co., got in their usual amount of good play*. Next Saturday Waihou meet Te Aroha at Waihou and as neither team has been beaten this season, a great go between the two old rivals is anticipated. Te Aroba journeyed to Wuiorongomai and defeated the reps of the mining tnvnsliip by 9 points (three trys) to nil. Jim Johnson, H. Wallace and I’. Bygrave each registered trys for the winners. Mr A. Lipsey refereed satisfactory.

MORRINSVILLE 11. v. WAIHOU II

This match took place at Waihou and resulted, after a willing go, in a win for Waihou by 4 points (a potted goal) to U (a try). M. O’Donohue potted a beauti • ful goal for the winners, while Ganley was the successful scorer for the Blue and Blacks. Mr W. Allison had charge of the game and gave every satisfaction.
