Euchre Tournament.
TnE Euchre Tournament arranged by the members of St. Mark’s Ladies’ Guild held in the Public Hall on Wednesday evening was well attended, and those privileged to be present spent a most enjoyable time. No less than twenty-four tables were found necessary, and the games were kept merrily going under the supervision of Rev. P. Cleary aud Mr A. F. Burton. At 10 30 supper was ssrved. The Rev. P. Cleary returned thanks to those present and to all who had assisted in any way towards the evening’s enjoyment. He called upon the Mayoress (Mrs R. L. Somers) to present the prizes, as follows; — Ladies ; Ist prize : Miss Annie Fawcett, silver mounted hair brush ; 2nd piize, Mrs McNicol, pair silver mounted scent bottles. Gentlemen : Ist prize, Mr Jeff. McSwceney, clock ; 2nd prize, Mr Hugh. Wallace, ipocket book. The recipients of the prizes bowed their ac • knowledgments.
