The Ohinemuri River.

THE SILTING QUESTION. Paeroa, May 13. A meeting of the Ohinemuri River Silting Committee was held in the County Chambers last night. Mr F. W. Porritt presided. Messrs A. J. Thorp, A. Tetley, T. Robinson, and J. Nathan were elected members of the committee.

It was decided to send subscription lists round to obtain funds to carry on certain works. Offers of assistance were received from several farmers.

A complaint was received from Mr C. Chamberlain, stating that his orchards and wharves are being ruined by the tailings. A copy of this letter is to be sent to the Minister of Mines.
