(Own Correspondant) Thk TeDjiifj Club spent a veiy pleasant afternoon at tennis on the Arnandale courts On Wednesday, and the club hope to return the compliment on the local courts on Wednesday next should the weather prove favourable. The local footballers aye very keen on the gang this season, Two fifteens turned pat on Saturday and some good practice was indulged in, Mr McGeeban being in charge of the game. The club play a friendly match with the Hamilton City Club, on Saturday next. A collection will be taken up in aid of tig. club's funds, when it is hoped lovers of the game will respond liberally. All residents of the district will regret to learn that Marton, a son of Mr Manson, passed away at his parent’s residence hre on Saturday afternoon. Deceased was brought home from the hospital on Wednesday, being a victim of that dreaded disease consumption ; he was eleven years old. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family in their hour of trouble. The usual monthly sale was held in the local yards on Friday.
