Railway Accident at Matatoki

MAOKI WOMAN KILLED.' Thames, April 21. A Maori woman named Watene has received injuries which resulted in her death. She fell off the train at Matatoki. When the train started she failed to reach a carriage and her husband * stepped on to the guard’s van and pulled her on hut she fell backwards. When the train returned the man said his wife was all right. It appears she fell off the back as he was carrying her. She died some hours later, presumably from injuries to the head. The police are investigating the occurrence.
