Clement L. Wragge
On Wednesday evening next at the Public Hall, Mr Clement L. Wragge, the world-famed astronomer, meteorologist and traveller, will take his audience with him on “ A Voyage through the Universe.” They will embark and take in spirit a flight through space, examining the minutest types of life on our little solar system, and then witness the glorious majesty of the eternal Heavens as revealed by means of the sensitized photographic plate and the gigantic telescopes and star cameras of the great Paris and Lick observatories. Since his last visit to New Zealand, Mr Wragge has been touring the world, seeing all the new matter of scientific interest there was to be seen, and enlarging his already stupenduous collection of photographs of the heavenly bodies. Although on the occasion of his last visit Mr Wragge’s collection was considered unsurpassed, the addition of over 400 new pictures of scientific interest | has made it by many degrees the finest collection ever seen south of the line. In addition he has specimens of that wonderful substance “ Radium,” the most marvellous discovery of modern science, worth many thousand times its weight in gold, and the public will have a unique opportunity of viewing this marvel during Mr Wragge’s visit here, Popular prices are advertised.
