The racecourse presents a picturesque appearance, 220 tents having been erected and eight large ones, ready for the Volunteers. The Seddon Horse are doing good work, Captain Brown and Sergt.-Major Bell acting as instructors. The company are holding a campfire concert on Wednesday evening, and go into camp on the Racecourse on Thursday afternoon.

The local Association Football Club will play a match with Waikino on Saturday, and will be represented by the following:—Goal, Hancock; backs, Jordon and Lee; halves, Chase, Turnbull, Sherley; forwards : May, Seton, Worthington, Edkins, and Redmond.
