Public Departments.

MOKE CHANGES.

Wellington, March 20. Richard Carter, the Collector of Customs at Wellington for some time, is taking over the duties of Sepretaiy of the Department pending the Cabinet’s decision as to who shall succeed Mr W. T. Glasgow when he retires on superannuation. It is regarded as most probable that Mr Chrter will continue in the office of secretary until he retires in a few years hence.
