Paeroa Races.

FIRST DAY. There was a good attendance at the opening day’s racing at Paeroa yesterday. Big fields and close finishes were the order of the day. The weather, which looked threatening during the morning, was squally, but did not interfere in any way with the racing. There was no publican’s booth on the ground, and drunken men were conspicuous by their absence, something unusual for a racecourse.
