WEDDING.

GREEN—ELLERY.

Quite a large gathering assembled at All Saints Church, Matamata, on Wednesday, February 24th, when Miss Hilda Green, eldest daughter of Mr C. Green, ef Matamata, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr Lilas Ellery, son of Mr Mr W, B. Ellery, ef “ Riverlea,” Hinuera.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Cleary, of Te Aroha. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dress of soft silk voile, wearing the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carrying a shower bouquet. She also wore a gold bangle, a gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids, Miss Emily Green, sister of the bride, and Miss Emily Ellery, sister of the bridegroom, were attired alike in silk dfesses, carrying bouquet, and wearing white picture hats. They also wore brooches of petrified wood mounted with gold the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr J. Green, brother of the bride, acted as best man.

After the ceremony, the wedding party adjourned to the residence of the bride’s parent’s where they all partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast. The happy couple left by the express for Rotorua, where they intend spending their honeymoon. The bride’s travelling dress vyas a costume of blue cashmere relieved with white silk and hat to match. Mr and Mrs Ellery were the recipients of numerous wedding presents, many of them being handsome and costly. A A dance was held in tbe evening in honour of the occasion, when Mr and Mrs Green entertained a large number of friends.
