German newspapers are cordially welcoming King Edward to Berlin, be and express the way will mutually prepared for gradual and lasting reapproaehment between the two peoples. The Kaiser’s permission to allow a civic welcome to King Edward and Queen Alexandra with a supplementary official reception, led to remarkable demonstrations in Berlin. Never before was there such a display of enthusiasm to visitors. In spite of 13 public socialitic meetings of protest the people are delighted at the prospect of better relations with England,. but there is no sign of any move favouring reduction of armajcments. etw; ■
