Own Correspondent. The Stud Season Closed— The studseason being now over, tbe thoroughbred horse “ Campfire” which was leased by Mr F. J. Marshall, was shipped back to Pat ea during the week. —A Youthful Apiarist— A sight which would have gladdened llie heart of Mr J, Hopkins, government upiarist, was seen here. A junior school hoy going home from school, carrying a swarm of bees on a ti-tree branch quite unconcerned. —Tennis Club At Home— The local tennis club held their monthly “At Home ” on Wednesday, Mrs Seville kindly donated a handsome pipe to the gentleman that won the most games, Mr 11. Hotson proving successful. —Waihou Cricketers to Visit Morrinsville— The Waihou cricketers intend paying a visit here on Saturday, when the local players will want to he on their best form if they desire to win. —Mr Wright Recovering — Mr Wright, the manager of the local creamery, who met with an accident a short titiaeago, is making good progress. He is being relieved by Mr Barker, from Frankton. —The Crops— The swe lo crops in this district are looking fine and heulthy, and there Is every appearance of the growth being maintained. —Building—- . Mr J. C. R. Watts was the successful tenderer for Mr Ellis’ seven roomed residence. Mr Page is making good progress with the premises Mr Manuel is erecting in Thames street, to be fitted up as dental rooms for Mr Ashfield. —lmprovement of Streets — The Town Board workmen are effecting considerable imgravements to the streets.
