OHINEMURI YIELD INCREASED. “gold returns from the Auckland district mines for the year 1908, have now been completed, and the total out-' put shows a value of £1,317,419 8s lOd. as compared with £1,421,216 14s Id for 1907. This is a decrease of £103,797 os 3d, due to a falling off in the Thames returns of £144,710 Is 2d, and of the Coromandel returns of £356 9s Bd, the Ohineiuuri increase of £41,269 os 7cl lessening the deficit to the figures stated, t '0 The 1908 output is, nevertheless, the third highest in the history of the field since the early days, the 1907 and 1906 outputs having exceeded it only owing to the phei.omenally rich run iu the Waiotahi during those periods. The , past year’s output is made up as follows : Ohinemuri, £1,282,600 17s Id ; Thames, B £29,855 16s Od ; Coromandel, £4 962 I . 15s id ; total, £1,317,419 8s lOd. JANUARY RETURNS. | A TOTAL OF £91,297. 1 During January the linal clean-ups for M908 fiom the bullion producing mines lof the Auckland district came to hand. [They give a total of £91,297 Is 5d, Iwhich, added to the figures already published, brings the total ontput for the Ipast year to £1,317,419 8s lOd.
