Deceased belonged to the Mauku district, and leaves a grown up family to mournjtheir great loss. . v '. ’ • An epidemic is at present raging among the infants of the town and Dr. ‘ Seville is haviug a busy time. t The many friends of Mr Duxtield will legret to learn that he met with a ‘ painful accident on Thursday morning. • While roping a cow the rOpe'got twisted ' around his right leg throwing him down ; and breaking the email bone. Mr , Duxfield is indeed having bad luck as 1 only a few months ago he and several . members of the family were laid up with a serious illness. It is the general wish that he may make a speedy recovery. On Tuesday night whilst riding to Annandale in company with others, Cecil Shirley met with an accident which rt suited in a broken collar bone and a severe shaking, through his horse shying and falling with him. He was removed to Nurse Allen’s near by, where he is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. The binders have been busy during the week, the weather being favourable for harvesting. Lamb shearing is about completed. Mr West, buyer for Messrs Hellaby, Ltd., paid a visit to the district during the week. He states the lambs are of splendid quality this season. It is upwards of two months since the i tender was accepted for building the Piako br dge on the Kereone road, and as yet with the exception of getting the timber carted, nothing has been done It is two years this mouth since the old one was washed awav.

Mr Hogg is evidently a believer in keeping abreast of the times A spring dray, turned out of his establishment ,to the order of Mr J. 0. R. Watts, is* a handsome and substantial vehicle, and well suited to Mr Watts’ requirements. One of the candidates as Native member. Kiwitahi E roved the winners on the last occasion, ut Morrinsville players hope to pull the match off this time. The following players will represent Morrinsville : Mesdames Seville, Layne, Messrs Manuel, Clifford, Allen (2), Bryers and Hogg.
