THAT LAGOON AGAIN.

j (To the Editor.) i Sir, —Te Aroha holds that proud disitinction of being a Borough, but I am afraid that all your Councillors have retired or else gone to sleep, but then asleep they cai not be, as the cackling of the feathered pests in the back yards are enough to wake the dead, while the stench of the Kenrick-street lagoon and the pig styes, all within the Borough, would surely make them have anything but a sweet slumber, so my conclusion is your worthy councillors must have retired, hence why this neglect. I myself intend to retire from Te Aroha, as I find it too high for my olfactory organs.— I am, etc ,

Farewell,
