Reform of House of Lords

London, December 3, The Standard says that Earl Roseberry’s committee on the reform of the House of Lords recommends that no peer sit in the House of Lords by hereditary title, unlsss he has already sat for ten years in the House of Commons, and has held high office in Britain or the Empire, or has been elected by peers. The number of peers entitled to sit under these conditions would be 350. It .is proposed to reduce the number of bishops entitled to seats; to create a number of life peers and to elect numbers of peers for Parliament.
