BOWLING.
Judging by the number of entries and the amount of interest taken in the competitions this season promises to be somewhat of a record so far as the local Club is concerned.
Unabated interest is being evinced in the sealed handicap for President Wallace’s bowls.
Arrangements are in hand for the annual New Year’s tournament for which entries close on 28th inst. Visitors will ]be entertained at a social on New Year’s night. A com mittee consisting of the President (Mr D. McL. Wallace), Dr* Kenny, Mr Somers, and§the secretary, were appointed to arrange matters.
Five teams from the Waihi Bowling Club visited Karangahake on Saturday afternoon and played an inter-club match with the local club. The visitors, who were warmly welcomed and hospitably entertained, won a well-contested match by 14 points, scoring 103 points to Karangahake’s &9.
