Horses : At the Durham Yards on Friday horses were yarded in usual numbers. Heavy draughts sold at from £22 10s to £32; medium do,, £l6 15s to £27; hacks and light harness horses, £5 5s to £l7 15s ; weeds. £2 15s to £5 5s

At Pukekohe on Wednesday we had one of the largest yardings ever held there, offering 1260 head. Owing no doubt to the long spell of dry weather cattle declined in price from the previous month. Dairy cows sold at from £3 15s to £8; heifers, £3 2s 6d to £6 10s; empty cows, £2 5s to £3 3s; two to three-year-old steers, £2 2s to £5 2s 6d; grown do., £5 5s to £6 10s; calves, 17s to £1 6s ; yearling steers, £2 2s to £2 18s Beef sold at Newmarket rates.

At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were yarded in full numbers and sold at late rates. Dairy cows at from £4 10s to £6; empty cows, £2 2s to £3 6d ; calves. 19s to £1 17s. Beef was yarded in average quantities and sold at scarcely last week’s rates. Oxen sold to 23s per 1001 b and cows ISs to 20s per 1001 b. Steers sold at from £6 10s to £lO 17s 6d ; cows, £4 5s to £7 10s.

Sheep were yarded at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday in average numbers and sold at late rates. In wool wethers realised from 17s 6d to £1 2s 9d; ewes 16s 9d to £1; shorn wethers, 14s 9d to 19s; shorn ewes, 13s 9d to 17s 6d. Lambs were in full supply and sold well at from 10s 6d to 17s 9d for well fatted; other sorts, 9s to l()s 3d. Pigs: Porkers realised 17s 6d to £l lls; weaners, 8s 6d to 12s; bacowrs, £2 7s to £3 2s 6d.

Maize: The market is cleared, stocks being worth nominally 4s 9d ex store. Oats are worth 2s 5d to 2s b\ d ex store Sales have eased considerably. Butter : Choice separator realises 1 Old. First grade registered is worth 10d”to lOJd; second grade, 9kl to 9£d. First grade unregistered is worth 9£d; second quality, 9d; pastry Bd.
