ALLEN’-MAIRS,

Apb tt v wed'ling was quietly celebra'ed yesterday morning at 9 o’clock at the home of Mr J. ■ . Allen, Bridge Street, when Miss Annie Allen was united - *-h-' bonds of Holy Matrimony with Mr W. J. Mair 6. The bride, who was riv, n away by her father, was attired in i tasteful gown of cha opag‘ e coloured silk, and was attended by Miss Lucy Allen, her sister, and Miss Maiis, sister of the bridegroom, attired respectively in tureen and pink muslin of the latest lesign. ' All three carried bouquets of •oses, the bride’s being of shower design. The bridegroom was supported by Mr ! eccombe as best man and Mr L. Allen, brother of the bride.

Thv Rev. J. Dukes offi.iated, and the ceremony was attended by the friends and near relatives of the happy couple. Vt its conclusion a sumptuous repast was partaken of by those present. Toasts to the health of the bride and bridegroom, also toasts to the bridesuaids and the parents of the bride were luly honoured, much sympathy being r'elt with the latter in losing their daughter. The presents were of both a useful and ornamental character, and were tasteful md well chosen.

After photographs of both the wedding guests and also of the bridal party had been obtained, the happy pair proceeded to the 11.33 train, en route for their new home at Palmerston North, accompanied’ by a number of thenfriends who gave them a parting shower of rice and confetti. Miss Allen is a native of Te Aroha, Mr Mairs, who is the son of Rev. Mr Mails, Presbyterian clergyman at Foxton, hails from the Old Country. The happy go to their new home attended by the hearty good wishes of a large circle of friends.
