“Tube” Railways Breakdown.
London, October 4. All “Tube”, railways in London, with the exception of the Central, were stopped for several hours on Saturday, afternoon owing :o a breakdown at Chelaea’station. During the stoppage weird scenes were witnessed in the tnnnel, All the passengers alighted from the carriages by means of .bidders and walked to the station. There was no panic The passengers were assured that the “ line ” rail along which the electric current runs, was not dangerous, until powerhad been restored. ; tg,. 1
