Junior Football Social.

The To Aroha Junior Footballers held their annual social on AYednesday evening last, which, notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, was well patronised. The hall was nicely decorated with nikau palms, tree ferns, etc., and in front of the l stage were hung the Ponior and Junior Club’s banners, and other football requisites, '•'he door which was in charge of M’s.C. Kcesing and and J. Maloney, was in tip top order, and when after some considerable delay the Grand March was negotiated, lovers of dancing were enabled to hear witness to this. Admirable music was furnished by the To Aroha Trio, whose popularity increases with each performance. The Club’s colours, blue and white, were to the fore everywhere. Great credit is due to the energetic Secretary (Mr Geo. McKee) for the_ way he managed a hard working committee, Messrs J. Maloney, It. "Willis, L. Allen, D. Wallace, P. Heathcotc, 'l'. Gavin, A. Popple, S. Wallace, P. Peat, whose actions were supervised by the ladies’ committee, Mesdames Somers and Wallace, and Misses Heathcotc, Dilvvorth, Gavin and Ryan. Some forty couples took part in the Grand March, which number was considerably augumented during the course of the evening. The Club’s President, Mr 0. F. Pilling, during the evening apologised for an alteration in the programme. The presentation of the Cup, won in competition this season by our boys, also of the caps, and photos of the team had to lie postponed, as neither of these articles had come to hand in time. However, he congratulated the team on their well deserved win and hoped to have the pleasure of presenting the trophies to them on a future occasion.

Extras were nicely played by Miss G. Bygrave. The catering which was placed in the hands of Mr C. Thomas, of the ltoyal Bakery, was all that could be desired. Eancing was continued with spirit until the wee small hours.
