Annual Meeting of Tennis Club.
A well-attended meeting of the Te Aroha Tennis Club was held in the Tourist Office on Monday evening last. Mr W. Maingay was voted to the chair.
The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows : Patron : The Mayor (R. L. Somers, Esq ); President, Dr. Kenny ; vicePresident Messrs J. McSweeney F. Pilling, P- Gilchrist, T. Mclndoe, Brodie, and Capt. Montgomery; Secretary, Mr Seccombe; Treasurer, Mr R. S. Hanna. The following were elected as a Committee Misses E. Hare, Bes • wick, Brownlee, Stanley, and Messrs Fred Harris, Payze, W. Maingay, Jordan.and A. Calder. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Tourist Department, asking that a reduction be made in the price of season tickets for resident members of the Club. Members’ subscription for the season were fixed the same as last term, viz., ladies, 2s 6d ; gentlemen, 5s ; and that members are requested to pay all subscriptions within one month from the opening day, and in the case of new members, then one month from the dale of their proposal. It was also resolved that this meeting recommend to the committee that the opening day be held on Labour Day (14th October next). The meeting concluded with a hearty vote to the chairman and to the retiring office-bearers.
