“THE LYON OF TE AROHA.”
To the Editor,
Sir, —So the self-famous alphabetical K. F. W. L. Montgomery has made a raid on your columns; he appears to have Michael on the brain. By the bye, he stated in one of his letters that it did not require brains to be a gardener! What rot. Does he mean Jto insinuate to bring our Domain to its present state of perfection did not require intelligence ? It requires just as- much brains to be a gardener as it does to be—from what I have seen of a lot of them, where you can buy and sell commissions in the army —a Sergeant, Lieutenant, or even a “Capting” in the army. The famous Lyons-Montgomery objects to newcomers, eh ! How long has he resided in Te Aroha ? and what right has he fc} object to jpeople frcm outside trying to get a living at Te Aroha. —I am. etc.. Gardeneb.
