TO FEMALE VOTERS.
To the Editor.
Sir, —In your contemporary cf 29th rdt—2nd inst, 1 published letters re the wrongful dismissal of Miss Michael from the Tourist office here. I now write through the medium of your paper, My object is to draw the attention of all females having votes to the way the Government treat their sex. In my letter of the 29th ult., I called attention to the case of a labourer who had been dismissed from the Domain, also to Miss Michael’s case. The labourer (after Dr. Kenny had held an inquiry) was reinstated at once, but nothing has been done in Miss Michael’s case up to date (7th of September). Are the women of Te Aroha going to sit down and allow one of their sex to be treated in this way ? Surely some of them will come forward and take the matter up, or are they only waiting until the General Election to show our “autocratic Government ” what they can do in the way of putting a party into power that will treat females with the same justice as males. As far as I personally am concerned, I intend to keep Miss Michael’s case in front of the public until the injustice which has been done her is righted, and for this purpose will send copies of the case to all newspapers i think will publish it, and also take the case before the authorities at Wellington, as well-as drawing the attention of all female voters throughout the Dominion to the great injustice which has been done toone’of their sex.—l am, etc.,
K. F. W. Lyoxs-Montgomery.
