HOCKEY MATCH.
LADIES V. GENTLEMAN
To-morrow (Wednesday) afternoon the gentlemen hockey players of Te Aroha will “ don the skirts ” and armed with straight sticks will line out in the Domain reserve (Dear the Post Office ) and play the return
1 match with the members of the Ladies Hockey Club. On the former occasion—several months ago—the gentlemen, after a liard-fougbt game, at which at least one of the sterner sex was carried off the field, and about half-a-dozen were wounded — scored a victory. The game tomorrow should prove exceedingly
interesting, as tho ladies are determined to do or die. It is expected the ground will be crowded with spectators, should the weather prove fine. Tho refereeing of the match has been entrusted to Mr Fred Wild.
