DEFEAT QUEENSLIND,
A ROUGH GAME.
Brisbane, August 29. The British footballers defeated Queensland by 11 poinls to 8. Brisbane, August 30.
The British final match was a hard
and fast game, specially in the second spell, which was very rough. M’Eveldy, yu/ie British skipper, had his collar bone broken. Queensland displayed much better form and combination in the first match. The first half Jffljded 3 all, Gibbs for Britain and Gallagher for Queensland scoring tries Qm ensland opened the second spill with a brilliant attack, ending in Maher getting over and converting. Tie final stages were exciting, the w ight and better combination of the viators eventually telling against the stubborn and clover defence. Williams aad Dibbs were responsible for tries, and Dyke converted tho latter.
